  Engbo AS

   The success story of Engbo AS began in 1975. Esther and Willy Enger established the company and started the sale of engines and parts from their home on Nøtterøy.

   The business grew quickly which resulted in the company’s move to Tønsberg. Engbo developed to become an important figure within the sale of new boats together with the brokerage for second hand boats.

   In the middle of the1980’s Engbo started production and sale of anchor winches together with accessories. Today the company produces a considerable number of products, which are delivered to boat-builders both nationally and internationally.

    At the beginning of the 1990’s Engbo started production of bow thrusters. These are also solid, well thought out and elegant products that contribute to increased safety at sea.  For many year the bow thrusters were distributed only by Volvo Penta under the brand name QL – Quality Line.  In 2007 Engbo presented their own thruster series under the new brand name XForce, which today is delivered to boat builders as well as to boat owners.

   The transition to the new millennium was marked by a new era for Engbo. The company now had 17 employees, and moved to Barkåker Industrial Estate where an area of 1400 m2 covers all requirements of the company: development, reception, offices, showroom, production and storage department. It is here that Engbo meets the demands and challenges of the future, and runs an efficient company.

   The Engbo group consists today of Engbo AS, Engbo Innovation AS and Intra Økonomi AS.  Engbo Innovation is doing product and prototype development and industrialization, electronic and mechanical work and 3D design for internal and external mission.  Intra Økonomi  is our own accounting bureau, doing book keeping for the Engbo group and for other customers in our area.

   Engbo is part-owner in the company Marin System AB in Sweden, which owns the company Oy Marin System in Finland. We are therefore well established in most of Scandinavia with a considerable dealer network.

   Engbo AS is NS/ISO-9001 certificated from February 2003; a visible proof of the company’s quality profile.
